Five window sizes
1000mm x 1000mm up to 2000mm x 2000mm. Magnetic screens come with a black, brown or white frame, and hook and loop screens with a black or white edge. Screen doors come in 16 sizes from 60cm to 180cm wide.

A window screen holds on a self adhesive magnetic strip that goes round the frame. A screen door fixes to the door frame with a hook and loop strip. Neither needs a drill.

Choosing an insect screen
At Magnetic Screens Company we sell insect screens you fit yourself, delivered across Singapore. This is the short version of what we have learned selling them: which screen suits which opening, how to measure, and what each mesh is good at.
What a magnetic window screen is
It is a panel of insect mesh in a light frame, held to your window by a magnetic strip. The self adhesive strip goes around the window frame and the screen sticks to it. Finger tabs on the bottom corners let you pull it away when you want to open the window.
You cut the frame down to your own opening with a blade or strong scissors, so one of five kit sizes covers most windows. Nothing is drilled or screwed on, and it suits wooden and aluminium frames.
Magnetic, hook and loop, or cat proof
We sell three kinds of window screen, and each one suits a different window.
Magnetic window screens are the ones most people want. They pull away at the corner tabs and press back on, so a window you open every day stays easy to use. Frames come in black, brown or white, with standard or midge mesh.
Adjustable hook and loop screens fix to the frame with a hook and loop edge, and the screen presses onto it. They work on any frame shape and material, with a white or black edge, in standard, midge or pet mesh.
Cat proof window screens use the heavy duty pet mesh on a hook and loop edge, so a window can stand open with the cat safely inside.
Which mesh
Standard mesh is grey, 18 x 16 threads per square inch of glass yarn with a protective vinyl coating, and it stops flies and mosquitoes. Midge mesh is a tighter black 20 x 20 weave that also keeps out midges and other very small flying insects. Pet mesh is black vinyl coated polyester at 10 x 16 threads, and it stands up to cat and dog claws far better than standard mesh.
Measuring your window
Measure the opening you want to cover, then order the size just larger than it and cut the screen down. Our window sizes are 1000mm x 1000mm, 1000mm x 1500mm, 1500mm x 1500mm, 1500mm x 2000mm and 2000mm x 2000mm.
If you fall between two sizes, take the larger one. A screen you trim fits. A screen that is slightly short leaves a gap down one side, and that gap is the whole problem you are trying to solve. For a window bigger than 2000mm x 2000mm, ask for a made to measure window screen quote.
Screen doors
A magnetic screen door is a mesh curtain with magnets sewn down the middle, fixed to the door frame with a stitched hook and loop strip around the top and sides. You walk through, it opens, and the magnets pull it closed again. Doors come in black, brown or white, from 60cm to 180cm wide and 210cm or 240cm high. When you measure, add 2cm at the top and 2cm on each side for the hook and loop strip.
For a doorway you leave open all day, an aluminium chain curtain or a polyester string curtain is another choice. Neither seals a doorway the way mesh does, so treat them as a doorway curtain rather than an insect screen. An odd sized doorway can have a made to measure door screen quote.
Fitting it
Get the top edge level before you fix anything, because a screen hung out of true will not sit flat. Work from the top across, then down each side. If the mesh tears later, replacement flyscreen mesh lets you re-mesh the frame you already have.
